Does VBS Cost Anything?

There is a $20.00 charge per child for VBS at Christ the Shepherd (this includes a cool Friendship Trek T-shirt). However, we will NEVER turn a child away. Scholarships are available. This is an outreach to our community, which is also underwritten by the congregation. If you wish to support VBS with a monetary donation towards this ministry, it will be gratefully accepted.

Volunteers Are Needed

We can also use volunteers (free child care provided) to help with VBS. You can be a part of this exciting outreach ministry by serving in a variety of ways.  We need student volunteers as well (must have completed 6th grade).   Click now for a Volunteer Form

Bring a Friend!
We love to make new friends! Invite your neighborhood and school friends! Parents might consider a neighborhood carpool, or driving as an outreach to your child’s friends. For every guest brought to VBS, the Friendship Poster Club counts! Each CTS student (and their friend) will get to choose a special poster (limit one per person for the whole week) from our Friendship Poster Club Wall.

Mission Project
Friends Around the World
Each day at VBS we will collect an offering which will go to support children in Cambodia, the Dominican Republic, Kazakhstan, and Kenya with the gifts of food, clothing, and other daily needs as well as opportunities to learn about Jesus, our Forever Friend.

Backpack Snacks
Feed the tummy; nourish the heart. At the snack site, kids enjoy the snacks while discussing real-life friendship stories. We'll provide cookies, fresh fruit, goldfish crackers, pretzels, HI-C fruit drink and a few surprises! Please be sure to indicate any food concerns/allergies on the registration form when you register your child(ren).

Closing Celebration
VBS Family Celebration – Friday Morning, 11:30am – 12:00 Noon
Round up the whole gang! Special family celebration featuring favorite VBS songs and our terrific kids! See the VBS pictures!!!

Drop-Off and Pick-Up
Safety always comes first! Children ages 4 through Grade 2 should be escorted to and picked up from the building by a parent/guardian. Students should be taken to the Sanctuary each day (please try to be on time so you don't disrupt Opening!). Students should be picked up from their classrooms each day. Make a plan with older children to wait for you in a specific location in the building or outside the North Lobby or Cross Tower Entry.

Parking
For the safety of all children, we ask that you park in the parking lot and walk to the building when dropping off and picking up students. Please do not park along the curb at the Cross Tower Entry.

Behavior Expectations
Parents, please share the following basic guidelines with your children:
1. We show respect for everyone.
2. This is a safe place for everyone to learn.
3. We love each other as Jesus loves us.

Volunteers
Will you join us on the Friendship Trek Trail? Our Vacation Bible School needs servant volunteers and we’re hoping you will help. We’ll provide all the resources you’ll need, as well as training at our VBS Team Meetings. We need teachers, helpers, section leaders, and prayers. Even if you can't be with us the week of VBS, your support and prayers are greatly appreciated.
